BUPA Great South Run

CCD Solutions, through its sister company NETCOM, provided the whole site wide network for the competitors timing and direct network links for the Channel 5 LIVE television broadcast of the event. The whole network took 2 days to set up and involved laying some 2km of Fibre Optic cable, 5Ghz Wireless links to the 10Km timing point and the Press Room based in Southsea Castle, 2.4Ghz wireless coverage, our own Satellite up-link from our Satellite van, to provide Internet to this network for Press and VIP.
 
The team of 4 were onsite all weekend and this is the last event of the BUPA Great Run series of which we have covered every event from Edinburgh back in snowy January to Dublin, London, Manchester, Gateshead, Birmingham, Sheffield and the biggest of them all Newcastle for the Great North Run. We also cover the British Gas 'Great Swim' Series going to places such as Glasgow, Manchester, Ipswich, London & Lake Windermere, offering the same site wide network and satellite services.

Next Year promises much the same, but with possible more events coming online (see the Great Run Events website www.greatrun.org) we are going to be even busier and our weekend events team will have to grow!
