As the IT serivces and Data Network provider to the BUPA Great North Run and all the BUPA Great Run and British Gas Swim eents, we have an unrivalled reputation for being able to deliver a great service in the most demanding of situations.  The organisers wanted to link the start of he Great North Run to the finish of the race.  Unfortunately they were separated by 15 miles.  They tasked us to come up with a solution.

Using our Long range wireless dishes we beamed the network signal from the op of a multi-storey housing block in Gateshead to the finish at South Shields.  This allowed the Elite runners and over 55,000 runners and 100,000 spectators to receive detailed times and results in real time.  It also enabled Live BBC broadcast to have the timings instantly on the TV screen.
